Updates have slowed down for Deathforms during the pandemic, but we’ve been hard at work.
Evasive Flowers‘ 2014 release Ice Queen will soon be available on Spotify and everywhere you stream music. Annie Adam’s solo project emerged out of the early ’10s Noise Scene in Wichita, KS and envelops the listener in minimal, disorienting and haunting choral washes while brandishing a pop sensibility that makes the songs deeply hypnotic, with a beat that keeps one (albeit tapping) foot on the ground.
After a short hiatus, all Remains to be Seen albums will be returning to streaming services by Independence Day Weekend.
While the live version of Tulsa, OK’s Barnacle Banger was cancelled due to COVID-19, Remains to be Seen will be performing via video on Saturday, July 18, 2020 for the online version of the fest.
From At See Compilations: With the sixth part of our La Danse Macabre series we open our focus to more facets of Darkwave music. For the first time in this series we make an in deep view of the electronic aspects of scene music. From Synth Pop and Coldwave to Dark Electronic. Retro aesthetics meets modern songwriting; catchy melodies and experimental sounds complete this collection. And in the end we make a link to older releases with some nice Post Punk tunes. We hope you’ll enjoy this different view of dark music.
Master Mood TV (Mason Monigold) is one half of the Dark Electronic Audio Duo and also mixed the track the remix stems from.
He explains, “We unapologetically make pop music but there’s a lot of content to mine within noise and uncomfortable listening experiences; Annie and I tried to explore that in the original ‘Tinder’ mix. In the remix I wanted to approach it from the opposite direction – focussing on the beat and vocals – sugar coat things a little.”
The Bandcamp release of the Master Mood TV remix also includes tweaked mixes of ‘Tinder’ and ‘Angelie’ as well as a downloadable PDF booklet. Tinder is available on all streaming services March 12.
